Historic Downtown McKinney vs. the New-Build Suburbs
McKinney is two housing markets sharing a city limit, and the moving plan is genuinely different in each.
Historic downtown and the surrounding older neighborhoods
Narrow streets, on-street parking, tight driveways, original hardwood, steep and narrow staircases, and door frames built long before modern sectional sofas existed. Truck size and placement are decided in advance, and more furniture comes apart than in a newer home.
Craig Ranch, Trinity Falls, and the newer master-planned communities
Guard gates and HOA move-in windows, wide but shared streets during active construction phases, and brand-new finishes that mark easily. Protection goes down first and construction traffic gets factored into the arrival window.
